Hurricane Grill Nachos

NACHOS
Classic nachos, hurricane style ($13.99)

I decided to try these as I was in the mood for some Nachos.
It came with the usual works i.e. salsa, sour cream, olives, jalapenos, green onions, cheese.
It was okay, nothing special or mind blowing. But for $13.99, I don`t think it was worth it in terms of the value.

Please leave me a comment to let me know some good spots that offer a great Nacho dish around Vancouver!

Oh yeah...before I forget...
What kind of cheese is not yours?
(Sorry, I had to ask!)

Classic joke!

I like that name for a dish 'Hurricane Nachos'. Too bad it didn't come together for you; at least the ingredients look nice and fresh.

Thanks Keri. I'll keep that in mind.

Chris:
It does look pretty decent doesn't it? I really felt the value wasn't there. Way too pricey.

The only nachos I will pay are those I had eons ago in 7/11s where I would overload them with the cheese-like sauce and tons of chili. Come to think about it, I guess it was more of an excuse to get the chili and cheese-like sauce and use the nacho as a vessel.

Nowadays, just as you mentioned, most of them are not worth the $$$ you have to fork. Yet, some of my friends order them every single time...

KimHo,
I know exactly what you're referring to when you talk about those 7/11 nachos.

I've tried the ones at The Keg and it's actually pretty good and at a decent price.

Keri - I haven't gone to Topanga Cafe in a lonnnng time. My parents used to take me there when I was younger.

ILFB - Nachos never seem worth it when you order at a restaurant. It's too big so it cools down, not enough cheese, have to ask for more salsa/sour cream, etc.. just a big letdown.

Good point 604foodtography.

And it's always extra money for guacamole!

Value for price is so key to nachos for me as well. Along with extras like guacamole (the best of all sides), adding costs, proper layering of cheese is almost always poor IMO. That was the joy of those 7/11 nachos, or the ones you make at home,as you can place the cheese all over instead of just the top.

Come to think of it, it's like a surprise every time you pull the top layer of an order, on whether there is good distribution, if any.

Chris,
Very good point you brought up!
I can't stand a pile of nachos that only has cheese on the top. It has to be layered!
