Decisions...Decisions....Marble Slab Creamery.

This is where it all begins...

Exclusive backstage view of the action.

Waffle cone galore.

A display of the different "real" toppings that you can add to your ice cream.

Here's a shot of the menu.

Here's another shot of the menu.

Step 1: Choose your ice cream.

Step 1.5: The staff will weigh it to make sure they are not giving too much or too little.

Step 2: Well, you're supposed to choose your toppings. The staff will then physically mix in the toppings and the ice cream in front of you over an ice cold marble slab. This part I thought was the coolest part (no pun intended).

Step 3: Choose your cone (or cup). For e.g. if you order a waffle cone, there are different kinds of waffle cones.

Step 4: Pay for your purchase.

The final product: SNICKERDOODLE: Vanilla with Snickers, topped with Caramel.

What the Marble Slab Creamery has to offer:

Superpremium home made ice cream that`s extra creamy (and smooth and flavorful and fresh) i.e. sweet cream, chocolate swiss, strawberry, cheesecake, chocolate amaretto, butter pecan

Hand-rolled freshly baked waffle cones i.e. vanilla cinnamon, dark chocolate with butterfinger

Mixins: freshest fruits, finest nuts, sweetest candies, yummiest cookies

Other tasty treats: shakes, malts, sodas, floats, fruit smoothies, ice cream sundaes, banana splits, made-from-scratch cookies and brownies, ice cream pies, cakes

I must say that I was quite excited and had high expectations in finally visiting the MSC (Marble Slab Company). And, it sure did not disappoint. What an experience that was.

Remember about 10 years ago when there used to be Baskin Robbins in every block...and then what happend...Gelato came around and now you can hardly find any BR. Gelato to me is just overpriced italian ice cream. For me, if you want ice cream, stick with real ice cream. And that`s exactly what MSC has to offer. I could go on and on about Gelato VS Regular Ice Cream but I`ll save that for another day. In the meantime, treat your tastebuds to some creamy ice cream filled with any toppings of your choice. I hope that one day the Regular Ice Cream industry (i.e. BR and MSC) can make a comeback and topple the evergrowing Gelato giants.

The bottom line...I recommend visiting the Marble Slab Company just for the experience. Chances are you`ll want to return. Oh yeah, expect to wait in line for quite a bit especially if you visit the Downtown location. I suggest knowing what you want to get beforehand. One last thing...the ice cream itself is a little bit pricier..you`re looking at around $5 for one scoop...but it`ll def be worth it.
